Doctor in Economics from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, Diana Cheung works in the field of development economics. Her research and teaching focus on the study of inequalities and social policies in several areas: health, education, poverty, agriculture and migration. As an applied microeconomist, she developed a wide range of technical skills to evaluate public policies. Her work combines fieldwork and scientific work in order to help design and implement social systems and social policies in different countries.

Her research subjects, professional and leisure choices illustrate her commitment in building a more just society and in bringing an alternative vision of welfare. She is a passionate researcher for whom scientific work must go hand in hand with fieldwork and politics in order to achieve this goal.

She strongly wishes to transmit her passion to students along with the knowledge and skills she acquired from her experiences in various institutions in France and abroad ranging from universities, international organizations, research institutes and non-profit organizations (Paris 1 University, ENS Cachan, Brown University, Fudan University, CREST, INED, IFRI, the World Bank, Doctors of the World, SINGA).
